Khalid Abdullah

Khalid Abdullah is from Saudi Arabia. Khalid got his Bachelor of Sconce degree in Systems Engineering at GW, and received his Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering in 2021.

Faisal Alhussain

Faisal Alhussain got his Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering, with minors in Sustainability and Business Administration, from GW, in 2017. Faisal graduated with a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management, with a concentration in Environmental and Energy Management in 2021.

Seth Barna

Seth Barna is a Ph.D. Candidate in Environmental and Energy Management at GW with an expected graduation date of May 2022. He has bachelor's degrees in Biology and Environmental Sciences at the University of Virginia, he received his master’s degree in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia University in NYC. 

Jack Boland

Jack Boland graduated with his undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies at GW in 2018. Jack received Master's degree in Environmental and Resource Policy at GW and now works at the DC Dept of Energy and Environment in the Water Quality Division.

Zgjim Brina

Zgjim Brina hails from Kosovo. Zgjim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechatronics Engineering from the Sababci University, where he graduated in 2019. Zgjim received his Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management from GW in 2021 and returned home, where he works in the environmental area in Pristina, Kosovo.

Steven Burns

Steven Burns graduated from the Carnegie Mellon University in 1997 with a dual major in Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Public Policy and received a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts in 2003. Steve graduated from GW with his Doctor of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management in 2021 and presently is the Chief, Energy and Infrastructure, Bureau for Europe and Eurasia, at the U.S. Agency for International Development in Washington, D.C.

Andrew Burwell

Andrew Burwell, an eight-year Marine Corps veteran, obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science, with a minor in Sustainability, at GW.  Andrew undertook a GW-based research project entitled “Fresh Air DC” that installed low cost air quality sensors around the District of Columbia metropolitan area, working with the District of Columbia Department of Environment and Energy.

Hange Chen

Hange Chen received his Bachelor of Science degree from the Shanghai University of Electric Power in 2013. Hange graduated with his Master of Science degree at GW in 2021.

 

Loren Denton

Loren Denton is a Chief, Municipal Enforcement Branch, Water Enforcement Division at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C. Loren holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of Colorado Boulder (1990) and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering (1996) from the same institution. Loren graduated with his doctoral degree in the Environmental and Energy Management concentration in 2020.

Shuqi Dong

Shuqi Dong received her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from GW 2017. She was a Climate Corps Fellow with the Environmental Defense Fund obtained her Master's degree in Environmental and Energy Management at GW in 2021 and then worked as an analyst with Sustainable Capital Advisors.

Scott Downen

Scott Downen received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2011. He obtained his PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering at GW while working as a SNR Device Engineer at Alarm.com in Washington, D.C. 

Benjamin Dyer

Benjamin Dyer received his Bachelor of Arts degree in sustainable development at the Appalachian State University in 2017. He graduated with his Master of Arts degree in Environmental in Natural Resource Policy at GW in 2021.

Diego Fabrega

Diego Fabrega originally is from Panama and currently works for the Panamanian Government as an Environmental Consultant. Diego got his undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies, with a minor in Social Impacts from the Suffolk University in 2016. He graduated with his Master’s degree in the Environmental and Natural Resources Program at GW.

Irene Fagotto

Irene Fagotto is from Italy. She studied at GW while on leave from her position as a Climate Policy Consultant with the German Development Agency – Thailand Office while pursuing her Master of Arts degree in Environmental and Energy Policy at the Sciences Po Paris. She took one of her semesters at GW. Irene holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the Sciences Po Paris, where she graduated in 2017.

Ryan Gabel

Ryan Gabel began his education with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance from Auburn University, where he graduated in 2011. Subsequently, he obtained a Master's degree in Finance from Villanova University in 2013. Currently, Ryan did additional gradate study in the Environmental and Energy Management concentration at GW.

Dor Hirsh Bar Gai

Dor Hirsh Bar Gai hails from Israel. Dor received his Bachelor of Science degree in Systems engineering, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy, GW. He graduated with his Master of Science and PhD degrees in Environmental and Energy Management at GW, with a minor in Sustainability. 

 

Fatemeh Ghodrat

Fatemeh Ghodrat received her Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management in Tehran, Iran, and her Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Bern, Switzerland in 2008. She undertook her PhD degree in EMSE with research activities in the Environmental and Energy Management concentration at GW.

Mark Goedde

Mark Goedde graduated with his Doctor of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management in 2021. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the Christian Brothers University, where he graduated in 1979, and a Master of Business Administration degree from GW, which he received in1983. Mark is a member of the adjunct faculty at GW, having taught a number of courses in the Department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering.

Kai Gu

Kai Gu earned a Bachelor of science degree in Geology from the University of Waterloo, where he graduated in 2011. He received his Master of Science degree in Engineering Management at GW in 2020.

Melis Gursel

Melis Gursel pursued her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Environmental and Energy Management at GW. Melis received her undergraduate degree from the Hacettepe University in Ankara, Turkey.  She holds two Master’s degrees – a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering from the Hacettepe University, where she graduate in 2006, and another Master’s degree from the Cagliari University in Sardinia, Italy in 2008.

Joseph Hammons

Joseph Hammons is an Investigative Specialist with the US Department of Justice. Joseph received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Maryland University College in 2017. He received his Master of Arts degree in International Development at GW.

 

Michael Harris

Michael Harris presently is a Senior Appropriations Assistant with the Appropriations Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C.  Michael’s principal Congressional responsibility focuses on energy and environmental appropriations. Michael received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy Studies from Duke University in 2014.  He obtained his Master of Public Policy degree at GW in 2021.

Jill Brickey Hottel

Jill Brickey Hottel is the Executive Director of Diving with Heroes. Jill received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees in Geography from the University of Tennessee in 2004 and 2010, respectively. Jill received her Professional Degree in Environmental and Energy Management at GW in 2014 and did additional Environmental and Energy Management graduate study at GW. subsequently

Marvie Javed

Marvie Javed received her Bachelor's degree with a major in Finance and a minor in Environmental Policy from the Lahore School of Economics in Pakistan in 2012. She received her Master’s degree in Environmental Resource Policy from GW in 2020. Marvie has professional experience as an environmental compliance specialist working for Chemonics in Washington DC.

 

Quanran Jiang

Quanran Jiang received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Southern California in 2017.  He received his Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering at GW in 2021.

Jonathan Kvilhaug

Jonathan Kvilhaug obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography and Geographical Information Systems at GW in 2020. During his studies at GW, Jonathan worked in the GW Office of Sustainability.

Preston Lann

Preston Lann holds the rank of Major in the United States Marine Corps. He obtained his Master of Science in Environmental and Resource Policy at GW. Preston previously received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Sociology at the Texas Tech University in 2006. He also earned a Master of Arts degree in History from Georgetown University where he graduated in 2017. Preston also is a graduate of the US Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School at Camp Pendleton, California.

Demi Lapido-Obasa

Demi Lapido-Obasa earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from GW in 2017. Presently, Demi she is seeking her Ph.D. degree in Environmental Engineering, with a concentration in water quality, at GW.

Laura Stephanie González Llamas

Laura Stephanie González Llamas received her Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Tec de Monterey in 2016. She graduated with her Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management at GW in 2021.

Kushal Malvania

Kushal Malvania received his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indus University in 2017. Kushal obtained his Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management at GW in 2021.

Emma Manyung Hon

Emma Manyung Hon graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Science and Technology from GW in May 2020. Emma’s startup company Envirobe won GW’s New Venture Competition in 2020 and she also participated in GW’s I-Corp program, the GW Summer Startup Accelerator and investment programs at TEDCO, a Maryland based organization that helps entrepreneurs take their innovation to market.

Charlie Martin

Charlie Martin received his undergraduate degree from the University of Puget Sound in 2012. He took several courses in the Environmental and Energy Management program at UW as a not degree student while working in Washington DC.

Alexandra Morganti holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from GW, where she graduated in 2019.

Alozie Pat-Ekeji

Alozie Pat-Ekeji got his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Howard University in 2017. He obtained his Master of Science degree in Engineering Management form GW where he graduated in May 2020.

Renato Perez

Renato Perez graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Ohio University in 2016. He obtained his Master's degree in Environmental and Energy Management at GW in 2020.

Chris Perry

Chris Perry is a senior Analyst at the American Counsel for an Energy Efficient Economy in Washington, DC.  Chris received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University in 2011. He graduated with his Master of Science degree in Environmental and Energy Management at GW in 2020. 

Davis Plunkett

Davis Plunkett is a Project Manager with Holocene Clean Energy, which is a solar development company that is building the foundation for the future of solar power supply, battery storage, and delivery. Davis received his Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He obtained his Master of Science degree of Environmental and Energy Management at GW in 2021.

Mounika Sankaramandri

Mounika Sankaramandri, originally from India, received her Master of Science degree in the Engineering Management and Systems Engineering Department at GW in 2020.

Michael Streight

Michael Streight received his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from the Colorado State University in 2014. He worked as a graduate assistant in GW's Environmental Resource Policy program while pursuing his Master of Arts degree in Environmental Resource Policy.

Ziqian Wan graduated from the Tai Yuan University of Technology in China, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in 2017. She obtained her Master of Science degree at GW in 2020.

Ellen Wang obtained her undergraduate degree in Graphics Communications Design in 2017. She received her Master’s degree in Environmental Resource Policy at GW in 2021.

Yinan Wang received her Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from the Arizona State University where she graduated in 2018. Yinan obtained her Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering at GW, graduating 2020.

Matthew Wright

Matthew Wright received his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from the University of South Carolina in 2008. Matt also holds a Graduate Certificate in Environmental Health and Safety Management from the University of Miami in 2013. He received his Master of Public Health degree in Environmental Health Science and Policy from GW in 2020.

Lujin Zhao, originally from Beijing, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of Maryland, where he graduated in 2016.  He also holds a Master of Science degree in Economics from Tufts University, which he received in 2018.
